Favorite thing to do outside of work: Trail walking, spending time with family and friends, going to concerts, and making new personal connections everywhere I go!
I start my morning at 6:30 am with a morning walk, and then I jump into work between 8:00 and 8:30 a.m.
As Director of Client Operations, I support the talent requirements of large enterprise clients and emerging accounts in the South East and West regions of the U.S. My day-to-day tasks are focused on maintaining client operations and include resource management, client management, contract negotiations and compliance, COVID-19 tracking, market research and guidance with skills and rates, and attending various client events. My favorite parts of my day are client relationship management and problem solving—understanding the needs of our clients and responding with solutions is the greatest part of my job!
I started my career at CTG in recruiting for a large enterprise client back in 1996. Since then, I have worked on providing talent to our national accounts. Some of the notable projects in my tenure include recognition in 2005 when CTG was awarded the sole source contract with a division of a global technology company. We hired and transitioned more than 1,000 people in a very short time frame and maintained business continuity for all of the clients within this division.
My super power is problem solving and working with people! Being able to react quickly to change helps our clients stay ahead of the changes in the market with rates and skills. We provide market data to our clients as needed to ensure that they are aware of the market fluctuations with new technology, skills, and rates. This helps our clients stay front and center with changes they need to make to attract the right skills for their projects.
The thing I like most about my position at CTG is the amazing people I work with! That is what has kept me here for so long. They are the most awesome work family ever! A strong culture is one where there is trust, human connection, and a sense of belonging. Ensuring our team has someone to reach out to is so very important in our current remote work culture.
One of my favorite quotes that hangs in my office is by Maya Angelou: “I’ve learned that whenever I decide something with an open heart, I usually make the right decision. I’ve learned that even if I have pains, I don’t have to be one. I’ve learned that every day you should reach out and touch someone. People love a warm hug, or just a friendly pat on the back. I’ve learned that I still have a lot to learn. I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.”
I would like to conclude with a quote from a person that I worked with at the beginning of my CTG career. She always said to me, “Dawn, make sure that you take the time to listen and understand everything around you as much as possible…because then you can build on that knowledge as you grow throughout your career. Knowledge is powerful—see those opportunities as advancement in yourself.”
