Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions, Inc. (Toshiba) is the global leader in retail store technology, with more than 2.8 million point-of-sale and self-checkout units installed worldwide. The Challenge and Opportunity

Beginning in 2012, CTG supported Toshiba with staffing for technical roles. Toshiba, however, expressed a need for support that included—but was not limited to—tech. CTG’s proven flexibility in tackling the company’s initial requests gave Toshiba the confidence to expand its relationship with CTG’s talent team for other departments. 

Enabling Autonomy With Support Services Staffing

Following its initial staffing projects, CTG began working with Toshiba’s IT, HR, administrative, accounting, and sales support departments. CTG staffed Toshiba’s IT team from scratch and has continued to provide a range of IT positions, including project managers, help desk, software engineers, and hardware engineers. We then helped staff Toshiba’s HR department followed by a focus on accounting and general admin. 

Revolutionizing Service With an On-Premise Approach

Prior to working with CTG for administrative and accounting needs, Toshiba employed workers from another vendor. CTG proposed an alternative staffing model by providing onsite employee support and management, including representatives at the client’s location who had complete responsibility for staff. These representatives oversaw onboarding as well as training and management. The onsite managers could meet with employees face-to-face and correct issues much faster than the former offsite approach. This model relieved Toshiba of extra duties and ensured issues were resolved quickly and professionally. Ultimately, our service model proved superior, and Toshiba chose CTG.

The Solution and Results

Since partnering with CTG, Toshiba experienced an increase in full-time employee conversions. The average length of assignment for a CTG employee at Toshiba is three to four years, and since 2012, 100 CTG employees have been converted to full-time Toshiba employees. Our account management team has an office at Toshiba’s North Carolina hub, allowing them to work closely with hiring managers. Our partnership not only helps Toshiba fill immediate talent gaps, but provides high-quality, long-term employees that match Toshiba’s culture. These employees play an active role in driving the company’s continued growth.
