Challenge
The client faced insurance and compliance demands to separate operations between the United States and Canada within a very tight timeframe. This necessitated a swift and comprehensive overhaul of its entire IT infrastructure, including email systems and data storage, to ensure operational independence and compliance.
Solution
To successfully stand up fully independent and operational IT infrastructures, CTG’s Microsoft 365 (M365) Consulting Team devised a project strategy that included migrating to a new Azure tenant while restructuring email systems and transferring data from SharePoint and other drives. Our phased approach included:
- Discovery and preparation
- Design
- Setup and configuration
- Migration
- Documentation
- Training
To fulfill each phase, CTG employed a Scrum methodology, facilitating bi-weekly standups to resolve blockers and foster robust participation and constant communication.
Following cybersecurity best practices, CTG utilized ShareGate, BitTitan, and other tools to ensure a smooth migration to the new M365 tenant. Additional custom branding and theming of M365 services enhanced user adoption and experience.
CTG’s client-centric approach and efficient project management enabled the client to swiftly overhaul its IT infrastructure in just six weeks, achieving compliance and insurance requirements while significantly enhancing client communication and operational effectiveness.
Plans to further streamline M365 systems and security are in development and will serve to strengthen the new IT environment. The CTG Team included 1 Project Manager, 1 M365 Solution Architect, 1 SharePoint Expert, and 1 M365 Senior Developer.
M365 Services and Implementations included Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, Azure Active Directory (Entra ID), Admin Center, Identity, and Security and Compliance.
Additional systems and technologies included ShareGate Migration Tool and BitTitan Mail Migration Tool.
