MediaChoice is a rapidly growing advertising company based out of Texas. The company has seen enormous growth in the static and digital advertisement market and has quite a footprint in the market. They own and operate more than 1200 sign faces across 400+ structure locations.
The Challenge and Opportunity
The Government authorities of Texas were actively looking for a real-time emergency response system that could help in getting information out to the public quickly, during emergencies. The city authorities were looking out for a system that could serve during emergencies such as tornadoes, floods and other natural calamities, as well as for incidents involving shooting, road accidents and amber alerts. They needed a system that can act as a response center during these calamities and be vigilant about false alarms too. This solution was envisioned as a platform that could enable even the average citizen to contribute towards resolving the emergency.
The Solution and Results
MediaChoice wanted a web version of the emergency response system, and identical versions of mobile apps in iOS and Android to reach out to as many people as possible.
Looking at the possibility for innovation and growth, CTG came up with a plan to chart out the emergency response system. Our team designed a scalable cloud solution where the platform admin, government command centres, merchants, and users could log in and publish their requests and details. The WhereTech emergency response platform served as a perfect fit to cater to emergency response needs. The users of the WhereTech system were broadly classified into two categories.
Web app users:
- WhereTech users (Kind go Configurator user role)
- Government account users (Configurator & emergency management roles)
- Business users (Configurator & emergency management roles specific to a biz)
Mobile app user roles:
- Public user (General public to report & receive alerts, business/store status, share their status & location with friends/family)
- Reporting managers (An additional role specific to a business to report on store availability & status)
- Fleet users (An additional role specific to business to report their location privately to biz, not an emergency-specific use-case)
- Responder users (An additional role specific to government account to report their location for emergency-specific use-case)
Access: The system offers levels of access to the different categories of users, with specific features for each access level. It can be accessed in both English and Spanish, ensuring members of all communities are able to access the information and features offered through the app.
Information: The system allows users to stay completely in the know of what measures authorities are taking, what resources are available at stores and gas stations, during emergency situations, and offers blogs and listicles for citizens to stay educated even when there are no extreme situations prevailing.
Connectivity: Real-time connectivity is everything in times of emergency. Keeping in mind that citizens of any given area will require constant connectivity with emergency services or for that matter, even with merchants, service providers, and friends and family, CTG built it into the system for everyone to work together.
Billboards: During such emergencies, MediaChoice has linked traffic cameras and security cameras installed on the billboards for easily monitoring traffic and other hazardous situations in the area.
CTG looks to continually evolve the application with new features required for identified business and government sectors. We have been identifying areas of improvement with the application, to reach maximum potential, in order to reach and impact more people.
