M&A Drives Health Systems' EHR Consolidation
Modern Healthcare included commentary from a conversation with CTG Managing Director Hamish Stewart-Smith in an article titled, "M&A Drives Health Systems' EHR Consolidation." In this piece, based on the merger between Advocate Health Care and Aurora Healthcare, Hamish notes that often times, the conversation about EHR consolidation does not come until late into the merger. EHR consolidation is not necessarily a big topic of conversation during M&A talks.
"The integration of IT systems may not even be discussed all the way through the due diligence step of the acquisition or merger," said Hamish Stewart-Smith. "It's not an initial consideration," he continued.
