Evidence-Based Practice Should Be Goal for Everyone
Evidence-based practice can improve quality of care, lower costs, and prompt better patient outcomes, according to a new article published by Hospital Peer Review. However, the rapidly evolving, and often conflicting, research on COVID-19 prompted concerns that evidence-based practice could not adapt as rapidly as needed. Client Solution Executive, Dana Bensinger, MSN, RN-BC shares insights in this latest article.
“In the past, people were more comfortable saying they knew best and saw no reason to change. Value-based care has pushed them to be more open about what others are doing and what they might adopt,” says Bensinger. In an effort to quickly develop evidence-based guidelines, Bensinger notes that we should expect to see more agility than ever before.
