Time flies when you’re having fun. I can confirm that this is also true for my professional time at CTG. I would even dare to say, "having exceptional times working for a great employer!" Does this statement surprise you? Well, it should not, especially if you know that CTG has been selected as Great Place to Work® for several years in a row.
I have a background in biotechnology. Twelve years ago, I started looking for a job that would allow me to combine science with IT. When "job surfing," CTG appeared in several of my job queries. This could not be a coincidence, so I got in touch with CTG. My first interviews with Human Resources and with the representative of the Regulatory Compliance unit were very open and pleasant and resulted in a job offer. The correct and punctual flow of appointments, good documentation, and attractive job offer package, combined with the fact that CTG had a training roadmap to prepare consultants for future projects, convinced me to start my professional journey here, and I have never had any regrets!
After onboarding and training, I immediately started working for a pharmaceutical company on a project that combined validation with the technical aspects of quality control laboratories and manufacturing of high-end products. This project really provided a good foundation for my later career in the pharmaceutical industry. Shortly afterwards, I got the opportunity to start at another well-known pharmaceutical multinational on a project that allowed me to gain insights into the IT world of laboratory and manufacturing systems, more specifically the implementation of compliant systems replacing the paper logbooks used in research and quality control laboratories.
Currently I work as a specialist to implement an integrated global paperless Lab Method Execution System in combination with a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS). In this multi-site, large-scale project, I am working closely with lab representatives, quality people, and IT all over the world (from South Korea to Europe to the U.S. and Brazil). One of my key roles is to get lab instruments connected worldwide via validated interfaces to enable paperless flows, while ensuring data integrity. The global aspect of this project allows me to broaden my professional mindset and encounter new cultural aspects, especially since international travel is required for some parts of this project.
With the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic, I realized once again how important it is to be working for a company like CTG, where we focus on maintaining good client relationships. Contributing to the pharmaceutical sector and being involved in processes and systems that could be valuable for COVID-19 vaccine development and many other life-saving products makes me proud, and are key drivers for my colleagues and myself to contribute to finding solutions that strengthen the industry.
Finally, I want to point out the importance of flexibility at work, a good work-life balance, fun, and a good connection with the company management. I can only confirm that all of these aspects are considered truly important at CTG. If my blog inspired you, I suggest you have a look at our jobsite and maybe we will meet some day, as colleagues!
