My Project
CTG was tasked with a Cash Management Business Transformation Program for a corporate client of a major bank. The objective of the project was to align the Cash Management channels and to respond to changing market challenges in terms of innovation and regulation, but also to harmonize the customer experience in terms of the offer and customer approach.
This project included doing an in-depth overhaul of the processes and information system across the entire value chain, and integrating new internal and external applications. All of these changes would then be deployed in all of the client’s European branches.
A Typical Day
During my interview for my current role, I remember my client's answer to the following question: "What type of profile are you looking for this position?”
"A ‘five-legged sheep’—someone who is versatile, knows the Cash Management business, can manage projects in a complex technical and organizational environment with a strong resistance to stress, has an international outlook, and shows adaptation and creativity.”
I was able to appreciate the strength of the CTG network to offer high-value-added projects, which are very rewarding for its consultants.
For this type of project, there is not really a typical day, but rather broad guidelines.
First, being at the heart of the information for one of the main strategic programs of an international bank requires participation in a number of entities.
My role is to provide expertise to the process owners in accordance with the Target Operating Model and the Service Level Agreements (SLA) for back-office activities. In this capacity, I work on all Cash Management processes of all branches.
I am also in charge of the formalization of operational processes for all the local specificities of the European branches. In this context, I am very involved in the request for proposal (RFP) process for selecting external suppliers to integrate their tools or services in the information system.
This specific and transversal positioning allows me to have a 360° vision and to participate in decision making with all the program teams, from development to top management, including the business lines and branches.
The objective is to respect the program's roadmap while providing the best possible support to the European branches in order to reassure them during change.
In addition, being on assignment and keeping in touch with CTG is essential for me. In this respect, I emphasize the great availability of the CTG Sales teams, always staying in touch with us to ensure that the project goes smoothly and to discuss business opportunities. That is also what being a consultant is about; being active in strengthening the partnership with our clients.
According to analyses in process communication, the ideal day must meet the founding needs of our personality. My project largely meets these needs, allowing me to put into practice my knowledge of challenges, organization, teamwork, sense of service, and creativity—all while maintaining a strong bond of belonging with CTG.
When I joined CTG five years ago, I never thought I would be able to integrate such a rich mission in a functional area that was still relatively unknown to me. CTG has enabled me to take up this challenge, and I have now become an unconditional fan of Cash Management, and an active promoter of the opportunities in this activity.
