Name: Katie G.
Company Title: Proposal Specialist

Favorite Song Right Now: That’s a tough one! I like almost all types of music so it is really hard to narrow it down to one, but if I had to pick one, it’d probably be “Rise Up” by Andra Day.
Favorite thing to do outside of work: I like to hang out in the pool, go for long walks, and read books, but my absolute favorite thing is being on the sideline of the soccer field embarrassing my 12-year-old daughter by being her number one fan!
I start my morning by letting out my dogs and feeding them breakfast, helping my kids get ready for school, and finding last-minute things they need for the day. Once they are off, I shower and start work between 8 and 8:30 a.m. I always open my laptop each day knowing what meetings I have ahead, and I prioritize my work based on that day’s schedule.
I work on the Business Development Support (BDS) team within the Marketing and Communications team. I support CTG’s internal teams, who in turn support our clients and pursue new opportunities.
My responsibilities include coordinating our responses to Requests for Proposals/Information (RFPs/RFIs), drafting proposal language, managing content, creating and updating document repositories, creating customized proposals or Statements of Work for various existing or potential clients, and creating PowerPoint decks for Orals and more. I collaborate with our Client Partners on their various needs and with the rest of the BDS team (Meena, Kyle, and Cindy).
I’ve been with CTG for almost two years now. As part of the BDS team, I mostly support CTG’s Health Solutions line of business, but have also worked with the Staffing and Diversified Industrials (DI) groups. I truly enjoy all the groups that I’m lucky enough to work with at CTG. A recent notable project was participating in our response to a leading academic medical center’s RFP for Epic Training and Activation. Completing this RFP truly took a village and months to complete between follow-up responses, making it to Orals, etc., but it was well worth it when we found out we won! It was a big win for CTG and it felt great to have been a part of the awesome “village” that supported this huge effort.
I spend a typical evening shuttling around my kids. My oldest daughter, 16, now has her license, but my 12-year-old daughter keeps me busy enough for two kids! She is very active with soccer, playing on two different teams (school and town), dance, and of course her social life. Besides that, a typical evening includes cooking dinner, trying to get a walk in (it’s New England so only if it’s not too hot or cold!), catching up with family and friends via text or phone calls, cleaning up, and getting ready for the next day!
I love the variety of tasks that come my way at CTG. Every RFP/RFI/Proposal I work on is a bit different from the last, so there is always something new to learn, and I have a fantastic team that I get to work with each day. I truly cannot say enough about the wonderful people that I work with at CTG. Everyone is so passionate about their jobs and are always willing to jump through hoops to get their jobs done. It’s a great and inspiring environment to work in.
My piece of career advice is to “do what you love!” I know quite a few friends and family members that are in careers that do not align with their passions, and I cannot imagine getting up every day and going to a job that I didn’t love. I truly love what I do and the people I work with, and that largely contributes to the happiness I feel each day.
