This week's "CTG at Work" recognition is all about John Laubacker, who was recently promoted to Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer, and Treasurer.
If you ask anyone who has worked with John throughout his years at CTG, they will tell you that he truly embodies reliability, and he does so with a great attitude.
John, a CPA, has been with CTG for 21 years and has held a number of positions with the company, most recently Vice President and Treasurer. He also served as Interim CFO from October 2014 to April 2015. In his most recent position, he was responsible for all of the Company’s Treasury and related functions, acted as the Corporate Controller, managed the Company’s stock repurchase program, administered the company's equity-based compensation plans and certain executive benefit programs, was a trustee of the Company's 401(k) plan, and supported the Investor Relations program.
More than anything, John is known for being a hard worker and a great manager. He arrives early, leaves late, and gets the job done. However, he also does so with a positive attitude and never lacks in great stories. His work ethic and personality make him easy to respect and will make him a great CFO.
Here’s what a few of John’s colleagues had to say:
“John has exhibited excellent command and a high level of expertise in all financial and operational areas of our business, which makes this transition possible. The Board is excited to work with him in his new role.”
-Daniel J. Sullivan, Former Chairman of the Board
“John’s appointment is a critical step toward achieving the milestones that we have set forth over the next three years. He is highly qualified to take on the role of CFO and I am confident that under his financial leadership, CTG will continue to make positive strides toward our growth objectives.”
-Arthur "Bud" Crumlish, Former President and CEO
“I’ve worked with John since he started here in 1996. Over the years, we’ve worked on a lot of different types of projects together, some requiring a lot of difficult decisions. During that time, I learned that John possesses great management skills, but the one I respect the most is his tenacity; the man gets things done. I look forward to working with John in his new role!”
-Elizabeth Savino, Former Vice President, Human Resources
"John is an extraordinary leader with superhuman skills! His hard work and dedication that I witness on a daily bases are truly inspiring! Heartfelt congratulations, John!"
-Mary Jane Slomba, Former Director of Payroll and Financial Services
"On our recent Town Hall teleconference, Bud Crumlish noted that John Laubacker has the drive, dedication, and attitude necessary to succeed as CFO. I would like to add one more very important trait. John is a decision-maker. This trait will prove invaluable as CTG executes on its critical three-year strategic plan. I look forward to working with and supporting John as we turn the company around. John also has a trait that is sometimes hidden: a sense of humor. Go ahead, ask him about it!"
-Jim Culligan, Former Director of Investor Relations and Financial Services
We’ll be the first to tell you that our reliability starts with our people and that we’re lucky to work with some of the most knowledgeable and experienced professionals available, and John is no exception. Congratulations, John, on your well-deserved promotion to CFO. We look forward to the great work you will do!
