My day starts at 6:30 a.m. I try to be awake before the alarm rings so that this “charming” noise does not wake up the whole house.
I prepare myself quickly to arrive at the office before 8:00 a.m. because, having to cross the French border and with the traffic jams on Luxembourg roads, after 8:00 a.m. it can take more than an hour and 30 minutes to cover only 40 kilometers (~25 miles).
When I get to work I always start my day with a good coffee, or at least with a coffee. Sometimes it would be a lie to say that it is a good one, but it keeps me awake in any case. Before my first meeting at 9:00 a.m. with the managers of the Infrastructure team, I always take the time to check my emails to verify the different client and colleague needs.
After the first meeting in the morning, I monitor the production teams and the various projects related to the infrastructure. I like to go to lunch at noon with my colleagues in order to get to know them better. That is not so simple when we only have an hour. That's why once in a while, we meet at the end of the day around a beer or two.
Otherwise, most of the time when the workday is done I go home quickly to spend time with my wife and my children. It is pleasant to take care of my six-year-old son and my three-year-old daughter, bathe them before a good family dinner, read them the evening's little story, and cover them with kisses before bedtime.
I joined CTG in January 2020; this was achieved with the merger between Tech-IT and CTG Luxembourg. I started working for Tech-IT in early 2014 on the project of offering a managed services private cloud model to our various clients, and more particularly, to Professionals of the Financial Sector (PSF) clients. The goal was to offer all-inclusive service. I am currently continuing at CTG what was initiated in 2014, offering a whole range of managed services in private, hybrid, on premise, and public mode.
We must be as complete as possible because in IT, we know that things are moving very quickly.
