I start my morning early at 6:00 a.m. by getting my children up to take my oldest daughter to school and my babies to daycare. I always grab either an iced coffee or a mocha latte from Dunkin’ Donuts on my way back. I cannot live without my coffee in the morning.
My first task of the day is to check my calendar and inbox to see what is planned and answer emails that have come in overnight. I pride myself on responsiveness and do my best to make sure that I always answer emails and return calls in a timely fashion. I think that it shows respect to the other party and reassures them that they are a top priority. Then I either spend my time on the road travelling to client or prospect meetings, or I am in my office call blocking to generate news leads and business. I spend a lot of time working with our recruiters on my open requisitions and being the go-between for our clients and catering to their needs.
I spend my afternoon in meetings with prospects or clients if I am on the road. If I am in the office, I am focused on scheduling client interviews, qualifying new requisitions, following up on leads, and interfacing with recruiting. At the end of the day, I always make sure to have a running list of what did not get completed so that those items can be addressed first thing the next morning.
In the evenings, I really try to unplug and make sure that I am present and able to provide my children with my full attention. We spend a lot of time doing homework and having fun together.
I enjoy my position as an Account Executive with CTG because I have the ability to interact with and service our clients one-on-one. We offer many different solutions that truly help to differentiate CTG in the market. I also enjoy working with our Recruiting teams and account managers. It really is a “team” mentality. Everyone that I have dealt with has been willing to help us succeed to win new business for the company. My career advice comes from the book The Energy Bus by Jon Gordon and it is “to avoid the energy vampires and to not be one yourself.” I really try to remain positive in my day-to-day interactions with both my peers and clients.
