 Solution integration services enable clients to identify, develop, and implement the most appropriate solutions to their change requirements. The services listed below are applicable to either internal, custom-built or external, third-party solutions.
- Application Development: CTG offers key development skills for IBM mainframe, Oracle, and Web environments. Mainstream development projects are undertaken in conjunction with other CTG teams or with third parties. In addition, CTG can mobilize a development team on demand, using its management skills to create an infrastructure within which new recruits or contract staff can operate under strong leadership.
- Technology Selection: An increasingly common element in today’s solution analysis and design is the selection of third-party software or tools, with an emphasis on ‘buy not build’. CTG’s approach to this process is its own proprietary Joint Technology Selection (JTS) methodology. As with other service components, JTS is a facilitative and collaborative approach designed to build group consensus on the choice of technology and associated supplier.
- Testing: CTG’s expertise in launching and managing projects using accepted best practices extends to advising clients on good testing practices covering all aspects of the business and technology lifecycle. Services include the development of an appropriate testing strategy, through detailed planning and scripting activities to actual hands-on testing. Although primarily aimed at user and acceptance testing phases, CTG techniques can be applied throughout the development cycle.
- Application Management: This service addresses the increasing demand on client development resources to build new applications rapidly, using new technology, while simultaneously maintaining—and often interfacing to—existing legacy or ‘old-technology’ application systems. Clients can choose to outsource application maintenance to CTG using our proprietary application management methodology. The methodology covers the initial assessment, transfer and ongoing maintenance management of the system or systems, as well as the transfer back to client management in the event such an alternative becomes desirable.
