Back to Practical E-Procurement
This service provides an objective review of your organization's readiness to establish, refine or redefine an e-procurement strategy. The process includes a review and assessment of the opportunities and threats represented by the ever-changing marketplace and related enabling technologies, as well as an appraisal of your staff, culture, business processes, and organisational structure.
The SPOTcheck Assessment is a structured, repeatable approach to understanding and clearly defining the current business model, and how it is positioned in relation to the new and emerging e-procurement paradigm. The method employed for the assessment emphasises participation, reflection, and stimulation. It is based on one-to-one interviews and small, focused workshops. At all stages the CTG consultants will share their knowledge and experience and facilitate the dissemination of e-procurement expertise across your organisation.
The assessment focuses on four essential, interlocking elements:
- Strategy: Elements of the current purchasing strategy and vision are measured and reviewed in the context of the e-procurement world
- Process: The integration of the required new processes with those existing is assessed, together with risks and efforts involved in managing the change
- Organisation: The suitability of the organisational structure and culture to support the new e-procurement relationships is evaluated
- Technology: The technical infrastructure and strategy is assessed against the requirements identified to support the delivery of an e-procurement strategy
These elements are reviewed from three distinct perspectives:
- Commercial: Considers the business strategy and vision. It engages the key people from the organisation who can clearly articulate all aspects of the current business relevant to purchasing and purchasing related processes
- Technology: Assesses the scope of existing operational and support systems. Both IT and business personnel would be involved to ensure a complete picture is established
- External: Leverages CTG's knowledge and experience to put the internal perspective in context with the wider e-procurement marketplace
The information collected in the assessment is presented, discussed, and developed in an interactive baseline review workshop fully supported with complete review documentation.
