This suite of CTG services offers a range of capabilities relevant to professional management of programmes to supplement the client’s own workforce and develop and improve current methods and procedures. They are suitable for both business- and IT-based projects and programmes.

  • Project Management: CTG’s project managers are qualified and experienced in managing projects using CTG’s own best practice project management methodology (based on PRINCE 2). If required and acceptable, the client’s own preferred methodology will be used. CTG project managers can be called on to manage either business or IT-based projects. Resource support can be supplied on an individual project basis, or in the form of a project management support team commissioned for a defined period. CTG is committed to applying project management in a focused way, concentrating on the objectives and benefits of the project

  • Programme Manangement: CTG’s programme managers base their approach on the CCTA’s programme management method, which is recognised best practice in the UK. Programme managers will typically run client programmes for up to a year, either augmenting resources for a temporary period or acting as an interim manager for a role pending permanent recruitment. CTG’s programme managers are invariably able to bring an element of objectivity to a client organisation and can add value by seeing inter-programme issues and dependencies that may be overlooked within the organisation.

  • Business Change Management (BCM): CTG's range of BCM services cover the ‘soft’ side of the implementation task while supporting many other CTG service components. Successful implementation requires adequate and timely attention to planning and managing the transition for the business community that will be affected by the change. CTG has developed its own methodology that spans the project lifecycle. It includes an impact assessment, marketing and communication of the change, training, and post-implementation support. Besides supplying change management resource support as required, CTG also offers a public or private course covering the methodology and a service that introduces the methodology into your company.

  • Quality Management: Using its experience of ISO 9001 and TickIT, CTG is equipped to quality-assure or audit projects, or to review and recommend improvements to clients’ own procedures and processes.

  • Interim Management: CTG consultants are qualified and trained to fill interim management or support roles. In such a role, the CTG consultant continues to be fully supported by CTG, with the ability to draw on CTG’s international network of IT experts for advice, coaching, and quality assurance of deliverables. CTG consultants generally stay in client roles for up to one year. After that period, the consultant is usually replaced to ensure that the client does not become too reliant on a single individual, and to promote the sharing of information and transfer of knowledge by the CTG consultant.

  • Programme Support Office: This service has been developed using the experience available to CTG through its project and programme managers. It also incorporates such other CTG core capabilities as quality management, business change management, and facilitation. The service is designed to support clients who are looking for benefit-based project delivery in order to enable competitive advantage and revenue enhancement. Its aim is to introduce a facility that is not merely administrative, but is accepted as a ‘centre of excellence’ for project definition and delivery. CTG will provide a qualified multi-disciplined team to set up and integrate the programme (or project) support office into the client organisation. The team will introduce effective methods, project tracking, and control mechanisms, using a pragmatic and facilitative approach. CTG will work with client project managers throughout the service engagement to ensure that key skills and methods are transferred effectively, leaving behind a self-supporting unit.

  • Implementation Management: This service provides a structured approach to the effective management and implementation of significant business change programmes so that realisation of the client’s business benefits is in line with planned expectations. It is particularly relevant to complex projects and programmes where a number of parties, internal and external, are involved with the development and delivery of the change. CTG will provide an independent, multidisciplined team that will assess the current situation and then integrate within the client’s project/programme structure in order to provide the necessary focus and results for each business and technical activity stream.
